Summer 1937

The Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth on May 12th 1937 kicked off a
London Season that was expected to be particularly memorable. The country was in a mood to celebrate after the shock of the abdication and even if you were not a member of the Top 10,000 it was still possible to participate in the thousands of local events held to celerate the accession of the King.

The 50s Ideal

Finding that magazine illustration of a girl in a hat very similar to one I have in stock, yesterday reminded me that I have quite a few similar illustrations from 50s mags, all idealising women in one way or another.
